The POWER of paint

Friday, October 30, 2009

I love paint. Paint changes things for the price anyone could afford- ANYONE! $25 and you have a new room. I love how paint changes things so quickly and cheaply, I sometimes wish I could paint my clothing... hehe.

Maybe it was all those years growing up seeing my mom paint everything under the sun. They bought a house that literally looked like the 1970's barfed all over it (bright green and orange foil wallpaper, orange shaggy animal urinated carpets, yellow laminate, nasty icky DARK cabinets etc etc). Gosh, I wish I had pictures!

She painted every square inch of that thing, if she could have painted the toilets she would have (hey, I am sure you could too)!
We painted the walls, the yellow and orange laminate counter tops, wood floors, cabinets, and trim and more than I can even think of. It was a quick, cheap, fix while she waited for the "real" renovations to take place. But it sure worked!

I came across this little blog I LOVE. When I saw this bathroom that she had it threw me back to my parents house:
But, what got me even more (and I am talking what got me almost screaming with SHOCK over the POWER of paint) was the after:
Now that is why I just have this passionate love affair with paint!

  2. Hi Mikael, Just read your comment on thrifty chick, wanted to check out your blog, liked it and am going to save your site. Just wanted to make a comment on your babies, I have twins that are 19 tomorrow and the one saying I have often said it "you're gonna miss this" There's a song now that says this and it makes me cry because it is so true. So what the house is messy, it's alive! Enjoy the havoc my new friend! Happy Halloween!

  3. jeanine, thanks for your comment! I had a meltdown this morning as my twins had raided, yet another, stack of papers and threw it all over the house. I can't turn my head for a milesecond without there being another mess (and as I said ON thrifty chick my decorating is also affected "nothing sitting on the floor or any tables is safe!"). But I KNOW I will miss it. I already am thinking they are growing too fast! Thanks for your comment.

  6. Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no backup.
Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
