Black and white is starting to tickle my tummy and make me smile, I just may have to go that way. It is beautiful, traditional, contemporary, and modern with a nice pocket friendly pricetag :) And we all know the lower price wins in my redos.
I love the idea of black and white with the GREEN apples adding a POP of color.
This idea rocks my world. White cabinets surrounding,then take the island black with a nice white countertop. Opposites do attract!
Can you imagine this idea with my RED WALLS, now that rocks!
Or do I go with my original plan of white cabinets with the gold granite?? hmm, the decision is so hard.What do you think?
Personally I like the black cabinets with the white counter tops and red wall. It jumps out at me the most, and I hate having white cabinets with little kids. You see EVERYTHING they touch.
ReplyDeleteI like the white cabinets with the gold granite. It is more "safe" to me. While the black is more dramatic it is still very pretty. Good luck. Granite is super expensive though....

ReplyDeleteI've gotta say the black, white and red makes me feel funny inside! Be careful though with the black if your laundry room is near your kitchen! I see DUST everywhere because I LOVE the black.

ReplyDeleteI like the white cabinets with gold granite, but the pictures look more cream than white -- that's what I really like the best. Cream cabinets, gold granite, and maybe black wrought iron accents. Red would be great for the walls AND if you get tired of them, you simply paint them.
ReplyDeleteI have Venetian Gold granite in my kitchen and it is very pretty and practical because nothing shows on it. I have had Absolute Black in previous kitchens in both polished and honed and they were more difficult to keep. Every crumb and speck of dust shows on the polished and oily looking fingerprints show on the honed... The black is sophisticated and beautiful, though. When making your final decision, consider how you will like working on the black vs. the gold, not just the look from afar.
ReplyDeleteI love the black and white idea. I currently have the gold tone granite and I wish I didn't. Some things in my home I like for the fact that they don't show the dust and dirt as easily ... but my kitchen counter is not one of them. With the gold granite you can't tell if it's dirty.

ReplyDeleteI love my black counter tops, but even with the speckles of quartz and honey, they still show dust - like CRAZY! I think the off white or gold tone counter will show a lot less dust. The gold will hide a lot of crumbs but is it getting near the end of it's run or is it a wonderful classic? I do love the black cabinets. Amazing! Why not black cabinets with the gold?

ReplyDeleteWe had gold granite in our previous house and we had many disasters with it. It was properly sealed yet stained badly all the time! Did you know white wine, pickle juice, lemon juice, etc stains it? It caused a chemical reaction with it that turned it dark pink! Problem was you couldn't always see where you had spilled in time to wipe it. I say go black! Black and white has been classic in a kitchen since the 1920's. You might want to look at Silestone, too...can't hurt that stuff at all! Good luck!

I know it shows dust, but in my kitchen it doesnt have time to show any dust because I am wiping ALL DAY LONG! So no problem there. And I just feel like black and white is classic. So if the gold is out by the time we sell the house, it wont matter because I will have my timeless black and white kitchen :)
